Classic sudoku rules with the numbers swapped for nasi lemak, festivals, animals or any nine emoji you choose — on a 4×4, 6×6 or 9×9 grid.

Questions people ask

How do you solve a 6×6 sudoku?

Every row, column and block must hold all six symbols once. The blocks are three cells wide and two tall, not square. Start with rows or blocks missing only one or two symbols, and pencil in candidates with Notes — they clear from neighbouring cells as you place symbols.

Does every sudoku have only one solution?

A proper one should, and every board here does. The generator removes a clue only when a solver confirms exactly one solution still remains.

What is the minimum number of clues for a sudoku?

Seventeen, for the classic 9×9 — fewer can never force a unique solution. This generator never goes below that, or below 8 on a 6×6 and 4 on a 4×4. Expert boards aim for 24, 11 and 5 clues.

Is there a daily sudoku?

Yes. Daily deals a numbered 6×6 Medium board from your device's date, so everyone on the same calendar day gets the same puzzle, and a new one arrives at local midnight.

Can you play sudoku with emoji instead of numbers?

Yes. Choose from six sets — numerals, dishes, traffic, kopitiam orders, festivals and animals — or type in nine symbols of your own. The symbols are only a display layer, so switching mid-game changes nothing about the puzzle.

How many hints do you get?

One on a 4×4, two on a 6×6 and three on a 9×9. A hint corrects a wrong entry first; if there is none, it fills the most constrained empty cell — the one you would most likely have found next.
