How to split a bill with KIRA
An itemised bill splitter that handles SST, service charge, discounts and more than one payer, and always adds up to the sen.

Questions people ask
How do you split a bill with service charge and SST in Malaysia?
Enter the service charge and SST lines as printed. By default KIRA spreads each in proportion to what each person ordered; you can also split them equally or leave them with the payer. The lines must add up to the printed total before you can share.
How do you split a bill when more than one person paid?
Record what each person paid at the counter. Once the payments match the bill, KIRA works out who owes whom and lists the transfers, matching the largest debts to the largest credits so there are as few as possible.
How do I split a restaurant bill by item?
Choose By item and give each line to whoever had it. A shared dish can be split between several people, with weights. Charges and discounts follow each person's item spend by default.
What happens to the extra sen when a bill doesn't divide evenly?
KIRA works in whole sen. It rounds every share down, then hands the leftover sen one at a time to the shares that lost the most, so the shares always add up exactly. A gap of 1–4 sen can be booked as cash rounding.
How long does a shared split link last?
You choose 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days, and the owner can delete it sooner. After that the link stops working. No sign-in is needed: anyone with the group link can view the split and claim an unclaimed name.
Does KIRA work in other currencies?
Yes — fourteen, with ringgit as the default. Currencies without minor units, such as the yen, won and dong, are handled in whole units.
